About Air Flamenco
Flamenco Airways, which Mr. Ruben Torres started in 1976, is where Air Flamenco gets its start. The Piper Cherokee 6 was the first aircraft employed, flying between the islands of Culebra and Vieques. Six months after they began operations, they purchased a 9-passenger twin-engine Britten-Norman Islander. With the addition of this new aircraft, its service between the two islands of Vieques and Culebra and the main island of Puerto Rico was expanded to include more passenger trips as well as US postal service. The airline expanded its services and charter flights throughout the Caribbean Islands, including the US and British Virgin Islands, throughout the subsequent five years, growing its fleet to six aircraft. The airline purchased 2 more Britten Norman Islanders for freight in 2009.
