About Air Jamaica
The flag carrier of Jamaica was Air Jamaica. From May 2011 until the end of operations in 2015, Caribbean Airlines owned and operated it. The administrative offices for Air Jamaica were housed at Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, Jamaica, and were operated by Caribbean Airlines Limited, which had its main office in Piarco, Trinidad and Tobago. Air Jamaica was originally owned by the Jamaican government. The Jamaican government acquired 16% of Caribbean Airlines after it sold the airline to that company in 2011. Since its founding in October 1968, Air Jamaica has been operating flights between Kingston (KIN) and Montego Bay (MBJ) and New York (JFK) and Miami (MIA).
