The national airline of Zimbabwe, Air Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd (doing business as Air Zimbabwe), is based in Harare on the grounds of Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport. The airline used to run a network inside southern Africa from its hub at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport that also encompassed Asia and London-Gatwick. Late in February 2012, Air Zimbabwe stopped operating due to financial issues. Serving a smaller domestic network, the carrier briefly restarted operations between May and the beginning of July 2012, after which flights were once more canceled. In November of that year, a few planes had intermittent restarts.
