About Alaska Central Express (AER)
The Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport in Anchorage, Alaska, is home to the airline Alaska Central Express. It is an express service for small packages and goods. Yutana Airlines was founded in 1987, and in 1994, when the certificate was acquired from Part 135 in Fairbanks, Alaska, the airline changed its name to Alaska Central Express. A significant portion of the original crew, mechanics, equipment, and pilots, including three Raytheon Beechcraft 1900Cs, came from MarkAir Express, a division of the insolvent MarkAir. With the acquisition of a Beech 1900C (N115AX) combi passenger/cargo in 2007, ACE Air Cargo started operating passenger charter flights. As of 2020, Alaska Central Express owned fifteen aircraft and had intentions to grow.
