Oceanair Linhas Aéreas S/A, often known as Avianca Brasil S.A., was a Brazilian airline with its headquarters in Congonhas Airport in So Paulo, Brazil. Prior to ceasing operations, Avianca Brasil had 13.4% of the domestic market share and 7.3% of the international market share in terms of passengers per kilometer flown, making it Brazil’s fourth-largest airline both in terms of domestic and international traffic, according to the National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil (ANAC), which canceled its operation. Anac redistributed the corporate slots (landing and takeoff permits). Although Avianca’s bankruptcy was not formally declared, an auction held on July 10th, 2019 earned R$555.3 million, which was insufficient to cover a debt of R$2.7 billion. The airline was founded on June 30, 1998.
