About Copa Airlines Colombia (RPB)
After Avianca, Copa Airlines Colombia is Colombia’s second airline for carrying international passengers and third overall in terms of traffic. It was established in November 1992 and registered under the corporate name AeroRepblica S.A. From the El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá and from the country’s major cities, it covers both domestic and foreign destinations. The airline began using the trade name Copa Airlines Colombia on October 5, 2010. In December 2016, Wingo, a new low-cost carrier supported by Copa Holdings, the parent firm of Copa Airlines Colombia, took over the national operations. In 1992, under the direction of Alfonso Velandia and Amos Ginor, negotiations took place as part of Colombian President César Gaviria’s economic liberalization strategy.
