About MASwings (MY)
Rural Air Services (RAS) are provided by East Malaysian regional carrier MASwings Sdn Bhd (doing business as MASwings). It took the place of the routes run by Malaysia Airlines’ RAS flights (1965–2006), FlyAsianXpress (2006–2007), and Borneo Airways (1953–1955). The inaugural flight was conducted on October 1, 1972, the establishment date of Malaysia Airlines. The company’s offices are situated in Sabah’s MAS/MASwings Administration Building at Kota Kinabalu International Airport. Its previous headquarters were located in Miri at the Beautiful Jade Centre. A part of Malaysia Airlines is called MASwings.
