From its main base in Astana, Qazaq Air (Kazakh: Qazaq Eir) is a Kazakh airline that primarily operates domestic flights.On the initiative of Kazakhstan’s first president, Nursultan Nazarbayev, Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund JSC established Qazaq Air as an interregional airline to improve the safety and accessibility of interregional air travel in Kazakhstan. The main goal is to link the regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan in order to support economic development there. As a regional carrier, the airline was reopened.
