Qingdao Airlines is a new Chinese airline that began operations on April 26, 2014. The airline is headquartered at Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport. In May 2013, the Yantai-based Nanshan Group filed an application with the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) to launch a Shandong-based airline. The CAAC got approval around that time, in June 2013, when Qingdao Airlines was created.
